What is a Lines and Signs Design?
Prior to lines and signs works being carried out, design is engaged to provide drawings and guidance which reflects the local, state and federal requirements.
Requirements of Design
Retro Roads designs traffic management, line and signs drawings and plans. Main Roads WA specifications and codes of practice, along with Australian Standards, provides the minimum requirements for the supply, installation and maintenance of road and car park pavement markings, signs, devices and traffic schemes.
Prior to designs being implemented, drawings and plans must first be submitted to local government and/or Main Roads for approval. Roads designs must not be implemented without the approval of the governing body(s).
Approval Time
Local Government and Main Roads approvals can take a number of weeks to obtain during times of high demand. Therefore it is recommended that design be engaged approximately 6 weeks prior to road construction or modifications are expected to occur.
