Road Traffic Signs

Traffic signs warn you of possible dangers and provide information.  They tell you what the rules are and what the road conditions are like.  Traffic signs include:

• Regulatory signs.

  • Regulatory signs tell you about the laws that must be obeyed.

• Warning signs

  • Warning signs tell you that there may be dangers ahead.

• Advisory signs

  • Advisory speed signs are sometimes used together with other signs.  They show the maximum speed that is safe in good conditions.

• Highway signs

  • Motor signs give information about the start and end of a highway and exits from the highway

• Temporary road work signs

  • These signs are used at road works.  They may require you to slow down, look out for hazards and prepare to stop.
